Sketchy on this one...someone else may be able to give more info.
Original owners = Alexandria.
Moved elsewhere, before or as a result of sale????
Second owners = Wetherill Park, but possibly elsewhere before going there?
Third owners = also Wetherill Park.
Unfortunately the compliance plates give no useful info and dont even give a year date of manufacture. It seems current owners have no records pertaining to machines built under original ownership. It would probaly have been no more than a ledger book listing date of manufacture, model & Serial number for each machine built.
If you know how to contact Ian Bersten, he should be a very good source of information.
Someone else?

PS now I am going down to check the plate on my own 2 gp Lever Bo-Ema and see what is the difference in numbers between it and the plate above......
I was looking at a Boema 2 group lever on the bay yesterday (search boema, youll find it) and noticed that the manufacturing address was on one of the images posted.
The address was Alexandria in Sydney. Living next to Alexandria, I thought surely not... and indeed, street viewing the address - theres a house there now and it looks like it has been there a while. Wonder why Boema ever worked out of it or what the deal is... I figured maybe the street numberings may have changed... but not in the last 50 years surely.
Do you know anything about Boemas history in Australia?
Difference in drip tray = early model Splendor VS current Splendor Maxi.
Yes we supply Charlie and anyone else these days that has Splendor, but I think right at this time there is only 1 machine or maybe 2 left in my stock. The next consignment lands in about 10 weeks. Splendor is a very good seller for us and rolls out quietly and steadily. Its the kind of machine where if you have one on display, attracts a lot of attention and in addition to all the other models we sell, it easily and quietly moves at the rate of about 1 Splendor per week to walk in clients in house let alone through other channels. It is a very popular semi commercial machine.
The original Faema has died a thousand deaths (as have many other "original" espresso machine manufacturing companies) and is nothing more than a brand name owned by La Cimballi and where some of their models also come out under the Faema name.
The Splendor is one of many "E61" machines that use an exposed E61 group as a retro feature, exemplifying a style made famous in the Faema E61 machine of the early 60s. BFC/Royal is an independent manufacturing company and virtually everthing except specialised items such as electrical and electronic controls, water pumps and silicon and nylon tubing, wiring and connectors, the plastic panels and of course the E61 group itself, is made in house. The groups come form various foundries, and these days there is really no such thing as "faema parts" .
Hi all. FreshBlood - the link you provided certainly looks exactly the same as mine (only difference being the cut-out pattern in the drip tray).
Ive got to say I was more than confused about the origins of my machine (hence the subject of the topic) but now it is much clearer as I did a little more looking and found an old post by Atilio back in 2009. I could never work out why they were always referred to as a Diadema when there was no Diadema branding to be seen? Mine has a BFC compliance sticker but is badged as a Royal and to add to that, Ive learnt it uses a Faema Group, I was beginning to think I had a Frankenstein on my hands. Thanks to Atilio I now know that BFC, Diadema and Royal are one and the same company and presumably they use Faema parts to build their units. Thats the biggest mystery solved!!!

That said, I have just copied the content of your question and emailed it to my service department where someone will PM you with some information soon.
Hi Atilio, thanks for the welcome and the reply. You are spot on with the time frame, I pulled the invoice and manual from the recesses of the filing cabinet and it was purchased on the 8/9/05 from an outfit trading as "auspresso" or "austeam appliances". Ill look forward to the PM. Many Thanks.
From the year model of your machine and your location I would say it did not come through my own system (and there was only one other party that brought some in and that has not happened since, so a good 6 years ago).

Hi all, frequent visitor - first time posting. Firstly Id like to thank everyone for the info and techniques they impart, the benefit is immeasurable. To summarise my situation, the guy who normally does services and repairs for me locally has moved OS, so due to the distinct lack of service/repair in my area, I want to take DIY path. I have a few questions which I know can be answered by the forum in all its wisdom. I have a 2005 Unico Splendor which was last serviced 12 months ago and has provided me with great coffee up until last week when, after a backflush, it refused to supply any water to the head. I have taken outer cowling and inner shields off, given the entire machine a blast with air to get rid of dust and loose grounds, checked all connectors/tions and confirmed that the pump is still priming the boiler. Observations are - some build-up(scale?) around the base of boiler(indicating small leak/s?), and when machine is activated a small amount of water comes from head, OPV and return tube simultaneously. From my searching and reading the forums I am assuming that it is probably the OPV or a solenoid issue?
So the questions are:
a) Am I on the right track with my assumptions re. OPV or solenoid?
b) Should I be concerned about the slight leakage around the bottom of the boiler?
c) From what I understand there are different manufacturers or exporters/importers of this machine. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer/s of my unit and where I can obtain parts for it?
P.S. I emailed Coffee Parts several days ago but have had no response as yet.
Many thanks in anticipation of any replies.
D.
