So any tips on pulling the hot water apart? I am just going to open it up some how and poke aorund and look for something abnormal. Than find the part that looks abnormal on coffeeparts.com.au and replace said abnormal part... anyone got any better clues?
OK for those interested - i unscrewed the actual tap bit (the bit you use to turn tap on/off. at the end there was a brass piece that had some bits of calcification on it. I had to lightly sand and wash this off. Have re installed the tap and now waiting to see if any leaks happen....none in the first hour.
Hope the problem is sorted AB. You may want to consider soaking in a descaling solution next time, rather than using abrasion to remove scale.
Has the machine recently been descaled and do you know the quality of your input water? If you have scale in one place, Im sure there is scale elsewhere.
I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a small split in the union on the end of the copper pipe from the boiler to the hot water tap. Had to get a new pipe fitted. I used Stag" paste on the thread to seal as without it I had a very very slight leak, so now all fixed.
