  • Giotto Evo water level probe height

Ive had a lack of steam lately so I removed the top of my machine. I noticed that the probe was inserted pretty much as far as it could go. The flat end of the probe was right up to the nylon sheath. I also noted that the probe nut was loose enough that the probe could slide up and down VERY easily. Im wondering if my probe could have been moved during one of the times of had the top off previously. It seems very likely given how close the probe and its wires are to the metal plate that attaches just above it. I could have easily knocked the probe during removal or re-installation of the plate. So can anyone tell me what the correct height should be? Or if anyone has a photo that would be even handier!

    Cheers,
    N

P.S. I couldnt find a search button anywhere other than the quick google search. Am I blind?

    Hi nixter,

When the probe gets wet feet, the boiler stops filling so yours is in the correct position to maximise steam capacity.

    Cheers

Nope, youre not blind. The YaBB search button was removed quite some time ago.

Ok thanks! And yet I sometimes run out of steam when trying steam a small amount of milk for a flat white. Anyhow, I removed the whole probe assembly, cleaned it, etc. I have my max pressure set at 1.1 so maybe Ill try 1.2
