Thanks Oton, I dont mind it myself! 13kg, or 10 or 15 or whatever you settle on, is fairly easy to measure with a set of bathroom scales. Of course youre not going to leave them in the kitchen permanently but once youve got a feel for how much pressures required its not too hard to be consistent, and maybe drag them out every few weeks just to check youre still on the mark. However if youre happy with the rest of the tamper, the Espros certainly a good way of having that reminder there all the time.

Yes - the rubber area above the base is great - real comfortable!

Nice. I understand now more things. Thanks all!

I ordered an Espro dyna. tamper because.. well.. I have no idea how much pressure are 13 kg.

However, most probably Ill end up with a Pullman Barista tamper. I Love your design Greg and the atention to the little details like balanced weight, height spacers and rubber finger area. Nice!!

No! No yet! Bezzera DG should be arrive this week (i hope  :-?)
    - Should I buy Synesso baskets instead DG stock baskets? What are the advantages?
I bought one when i got the pullman tamper for my DG.
Main advantage: I did not have to wait for my DG baskets to be posted to greg first.

Re: A new Bezzera prosumer E61!

Im not sure if the DG baskets are the same as other Bezzeras (I expect they are), but the stock Bezzera double baskets that weve seen have walls that taper inwards. This makes it impossible to get a well fitted tamper. The straight walls on the Synesso baskets (as simsy mentioned) are one of the main reasons we chose these as our basket of choice for fitted tampers - a tamper thats a neat fit at the top is just as neat 10mm down.

2nd that - I have added a Synesso double basket to my Galatea and had a Pullman Barista tamper made to fit. Opposite to KK in that I went flat base, only because i agree with the theory behind the flat base and Im getting good results - Greg matched the sizing perfectly!

One thing I discovered with the DG is that the screen is low, meaning that after you level off your dose in the basket you then need to remove about 1mm of grinds using a dosing tool before you tamp. This is to ensure that the puck gets under the screen. For this reason I suggest a basket that allows you to get as much coffee in as possible - the synesso walls are very straight and therefore helps out a bit in that regard. I think it also achieves a richer extraction than the DG baskets IMO......cheers

    Pullman convex... mmm... so...

    - DG 1) stock basket screen is convex?
    - 2) Synesso baskets fits without problems into DG portafilter?
    - 3) Should I buy Synesso baskets instead DG stock baskets? What are the advantages?

    thanks!!
    1) yes convex screen Note - It is an interference fit (no screw)
    2) Yes Synesso, La Marzocco, and other E61 baskets fit the PF no problem
    3) Its up to you and your preference

I have no problems with the stock Bezzera baskets
It was easier and more convenient to me for a made to order Tamper to be fitted on a basket that Greg stocks & sells
That said the Synesso basket has smaller holes and is made to a high standard

    Hola Oton
So you got the DG at last (good choice)

58 mm convex tamper is my choice as it matches the profile of the screen

You can have one made as I did by Greg Pullman and matched to a Synesso double basket

    Hey, watching this pic:

Seems that front is polished stainless steel and sides and back (i saw another pic) are brushed (satined)? Or is totally polished?

(I printed some pics of various machines to let my wife choose  :)
