    Excellent purchase takb. Congratulations!

I see a very rosy future for VBM in Australia.

ECA are throwing their full support behind them and "brains trust" Peter Cairis has also done some great work on Aussie stock to create a machine totally different in performance and character to older machines.

With the option of dedicated plumbed models, these machines compete with ECMs own Veneziano A1/S1 series except for the vibe pump but at a much lower price point. VBM are working hard to meet the needs of the Aussie market...Watch this space :-X

VBM will be on display at Aromafest so for those attending, pop in and see what all the fuss is about!

    Re: Vibiemme Domobar Super?

I just bought a Vibiemme Domobar Super last week from Renzo and Ofra at DiBartoli along with a Mazzer Mini. I can certainly say Im very happy with my choice!

It was a toss up between the Vibiemme and a Minore II but side-by-side its truely chalk and cheese in the looks department, the Vibiemme just looks soooo much better. Now that Ive got it home and had a chance to go over it in detail, you can see that shes truely a quality piece of kit. Everything fits well, looks good and exudes quality.

Theres been comment that its a bit noisy but I dont find it particularly noisy at all.
The other comment this machine seems to get is that its quite deep. Certainly its deeper than a Giotto or a Bezzera Domus Galatea but it fits perfectly on our standard-sized kitchen benchtop. I thought the Bezzera was quite wide in comparison and would take up a lot more bench space width. The Vibiemme is quite compact width-wise. Of course the Vibiemmes depth is a result of its huge boiler and reservoir capacities (2.7l and 3.8l respectively). That means Im not filling it all the time and its got awesome steam capacity.
It also has a generously sized drip tray. I can see that you need it and Ive read that this can be a problem with the Giotto. No complaints from me on the Vibiemme.

I got the black one. I didnt think the extra $300 for stainless sides was worth it. Plus if I want to change the colour I can always get it powder coated for probably under $100. I think the black looks really stylish.

Im only a novice and its taken me a few days to get everything adjusted so that Im satisfied with the shot quality. I think Im getting pretty close now. It took me a while to get my dose quantity and tamp pressure consistent and I didnt start with fresh beans which made things harder. Once I switched to fresh beans I started seeing better results.
Im really happy with the milk texturing. With the steam capacity of this machine its over before you know it so I found that I needed to get my swirl happening quick smart. After a few days of practice Im getting results that Im happy with. Im getting compliments from the family now so thats a good sign.

The best part of the whole thing is that I can get great tasting coffees in just a couple of minutes. No fuss. Thats what I was after and thats what Ive got so one happy camper here.
"Wanna coffee? Bang, bang, wizz, thump - there you go." Like a bought one. :-)

It sure beats the old thermoblock based Krups machine that I used to own. Youd battle with it for ages only to produce coffee that was quite frankly worse than sh**/instant.

Theres an excellent in-depth progressive review of the machine here: http://www.home-barista.com/forums/buyers-guide-to-the-vibiemme-domobar-super-t4019.html. The review is complete with videos of the machines operation.

    Hmmm, wanna coffee?

All of these e61 box machines look quite similar, but I can assure you that some of them do perform significantly better than others!

    Cheers,

    Luca

Fair enough Luca ......but which ones/ones??
