Ive been talking about it for more than a month now, here and there.
Chris from Talk Coffee has been very patient with me.
Well my funds finally came through and now I have, proudly sitting on my kitchen bench and serving me the most delicious coffee, the
Vibiemme Domobar Super Lever Stainless Steel.
A little pictorial of my excitement.
All images are at 640 max, and all images are thumbnails to larger (1200 max) images.
My wife and I went to Melbourne for a few days. One of the stops we made was because of a recommendation from a good friend, that I should go to see Erin Sampson from Pressings. So, not sure where to get off the tram, we jumped in a cab and found ourselves there.
By the way I highly recommend the fruit toast. 2 pieces filled me. And 2 coffees of course.
The first round...

The 2nd round...

And Erin at work

So having phoned Chris from Talk Coffee on Friday afternoon and made the payment, then going to Melbourne, I arrived home on Tuesday afternoon.
Came in the back door. Dumped my stuff. Opened the front toor to find this

Looked so good, had to go for another angle

From paying on Friday afternoon, it was on our doorstep in Tasmania 48 working hours later. Got to be happy with that!!!
So we got it inside and unpacked it

Now its time for the old guard to step aside...

And the new guard to proudly take its place...

So lets see what its got...

Now, time to celebrate in style...

I now have a bottomless PF care of coffeeparts, and today my water filter arrives from Bombora.
While in Melbourne I also called into Veneziano and had a great chat with Craig. Picked up a couple of jugs and a knock box.
Now all that is left is for me to shake this head cold so I can appreciate my coffee a bit more.
And to buy the new Pullman tamper when it is available.
A very big thank you to everyone at CoffeeSnobs for offering me advice with all the posts throughout this forum.
And again, a special thanks to Chris. Thumbs up, mate!
Ive been doing a lot of reading and had nearly decided on the Giotto. I am sure I would have been happy with it, but I just love this machine. I can already see so much potential.
The crema that pours from the group head as the extraction takes place is just amazing.
I thought I was getting good coffee from the old machine. I suppose I was - but there is a quantum step between good coffee and the great coffee this machine has the potential to produce - I can see that already, and I have a lot of learning to do before Im pulling anything near god shots.
