It sounds like the pressure building in the brew head. I get it too.

I know Ive asked before, but has anyone else with the Giotto had the whooping noise during a pour? It starts a few seconds after the brew lever is pulled up.

Worst thing about it - I want to play with it and make beautiful coffee every waking minute. Sad, eh?  :-/Greg
Well if thats the case, maybe we can cheer you up via a CS get-together at your place and give the GPP a good try out. Perhaps end up with a few more waking minutes than you counted on ;D

    Well done.

I love to hear of competition winners who will actually get enjoyment from the prize.

Many years of great coffee to you!

Well... Ive joined the ranks of proud GPP owners. And I wasnt really expecting to just yet.

You see, my wife and I have been very, VERY, EXTREMELY fortunate to have won one. Yep, thats right!

I posted previously in this thread, after having a play with a GPP, how beautiful they are and that they were on my definite wish list. Well, we must have wished real hard, because it came true. ;D

A HUGE thanks to Burnham House Publishing for offering such a fantastic prize and to Charles and all at ECA who supplied it to us. (They also are very pleased it went to someone who will really appreciate it and not dump it straight on flea-bay!) I still cant believe it!

After ECA rectified a minor leakage problem (from the connections at the bottom of the water tank), it is performing beautifully. As we were already well aware, it is a beautiful machine and looks magnificent on our kitchen bench. More importantly, it really does make brilliant coffee - drippy syrupy pours, perfect microfoam (when I get it all right :P) - the whole family is blown away by it.

In celebration, I bought a bottomless portafilter (Coffee Parts) and Pullman Barista tamper with Synesso basket. I am now officially in coffee heaven!

....With the Sunbeam, theres more margin for error because the gap between its best and its worst is so much smaller than the Giottos.
:-? Interesting....Having used them both extensively, I could only suggest that there is a very large gap from the Sunbeam to the best from a Giotto. In that sense, I guess youre correct
