  • Minore II with PID = Minore III

The big news today is that the Minore II (now Minore III) has PID and stocks are here

Full details on the PID to follow, but what we know so far:
    • PID control on brew boiler
    • PID operates through a solid state relay
    • Temperature sensor for PID is fully saturated

And the kicker is that the price will be on hold until the new Year

More details, photos etc to follow

Re: Minore II with PID = Minore III

      Hi Moto,

      RRP is $2,490.

As soon as I get one out of the box, Ill put Mr Cybershot on the case.

There have been a few changes already incorporated into the Minore II including:
      • smaller feet
      • metal toggle for on/off switch
      • no burn steam wand

but the change on this version is the PID.

Im finding it hard to swallow that the newer Minore will have a PID but still remain at the current RRP....

So itll be the differences noted above, and instead of the old temp controller, itll be a PID?

I have one on order and should have it early next week...

First thing well be doing is getting down and dirty...

I dont recall Dean Slade referring to the controller as a PID but it was quite some time ago that we discussed the machine. Will be exciting if it is ...

Ill probably be posting on the retro fit if it is ... theres no way I can handle mine only being a fridge controller if theres a PID out there for my machine!!!

Re: Minore II with PID = Minore III

Theres definitely a GICAR controller there! And with my extensive 10 minute test  ;D it does a good job of pulsing the element to get to the setpoint fast with little overshoot (changed setpoint from 92 to 95 and it briefly overshot to 96 before dropping and sitting on 95).

                  Here are the pics:

Ive seen it, and I still dont quite believe it either

At that price why would anyone buy a Giotto or Domobar Super???

Obviously my next question is - Can these be fitted to existing Minores?

It would be a 100% rewire I would think Dan....and most likely not cheap...
