Because it is an easy maintenance task
I generally do it 2 times a week
I also lubricate the seal with a very thin layer of lubricant or Lucas Paw Paw ointment
The easiest way is to screw a coarse threaded screw into the old seal (just dont go too deep to avoid scratching the group base) and then pull on the screw head with pliers to get it out.
This is only useful for replacing the seal, of course.
Going to change the group seal on the machine at work (Diadema Junior) which is a trick Ive never done myself in the past. Ill be changing the shower screen while Im at it, but thought before I jump in it might be wise to get some feedback from the more technically proficient of you out there!
