Do they really only have a 1.2L boiler? I was surprised by that

          Re: Isomac Alba Review

          Thanks guys for the feedback.

I sent an email to Isomac last week about the boiler size and received a reply confirming that it is 1.2liters (see below).  The importer also called me to confirm this (I must admit, I was pleasantly surprise by the level of customer service and follow up).

By this stage, I had already opened the machine :-)

In practice, the smaller boiler has not been an issue (to me) and it actually means it heats and recover up quicker.

          Oli

Hi Oli, this email from Fontana to Fabio is actually passing on the question - not actually providing the answer.

              Hi Dennis,

When I opened the machine the boiler manufacturing plate does say 1.2 liters. I took a photo (see link above) but it may not be very readable.

I have the Isomac Tea which has identical internals at the Alba, with the boiler set on 1.5bars I get ample steam power for doing milk drinks, I dropped it back to 1.2 to see what happened and I did lose a fair bit of steam power so I went back to 1.5. If the machine has been sitting for more than 10-15 mins I always do a cooling flush before pulling shots. I am totally happy with the results so far, I have to top up the water tank often but I used to do that with Silvia when I had her so its no big deal to me.
When I was looking at purchasing the machine I was told by different people that it had a 1.4l, 1.3l and 1.2l boiler, I think the 1.2l is the correct size.
                Love the pics Oli.
                Enjoy your Alba
                cheers gm
