Great photos Mal and what a fantastic pour!  I love the reflection of the naked in the drip tray too.
    Thanks Den ;D

It was a beaut to drink as well... I noticed the reflections while I was setting up before pulling the shot so thought, "Why not?". I can always pull another shot or three if it doesnt work out :.... Id have to drink them of course Turned out rather well in the end though.

Thanks again too Den for sourcing these beautiful little cups, theyre great. Oh, and by the way, the bag of Defib lasted only an afternoon as the relos just werent satisfied with only one drink. Of course, I had to make sure that every third or fourth shot was being pulled properly, ahem :... Will definitely be grabbing some more off you Den in a couple of weeks time, a beautiful blend.... 8-)

    Mal.

Argh can I get those cuuuuuuuuups!!! Please tell me there are more? Pretty please?
Sorry but the answer is, no. Mal and one other person scored a set...and I missed out. But no regrets as Im very glad they went to these two wonderful people.

As far as Im aware, they were the last two new sets in existence. Its also a nail-biting experience having them sent from the other side of the world and then repackaging them and putting them in the hands of AU Post, who thankfully took good care of them.

Im on a waiting list for when and if Illy ever release them again. :-/

As part of a generous offer by Dennis of CuppaCoffee, I managed to acquire a set of "Illy Crystal Espresso Cups and Saucers". They are truly a very attractive little cup and very happy to have been able to acquire them. Thank you very much Dennis [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Anyway, thought some of you might like to see an "action" photo or two during and after a pour. The resulting espresso was very, very nice by the way from one of my own blends. No Robusta in this blend and about 12 days post-roast.... Lovely crema 8-)

    Cheers,
    Mal.

    And just for AM...

Heres a progression of photos of a mostly Arabica based shot made with CuppaCoffee s "Defibrillator" Blend. Now, this coffee is one of my favourites and I never, ever just stop at one. I made a few shots of this tonight for my son and his new girlfriend (who just happens to be a bit of a coffee snob too) and they also love it.

    Anyway, on with the piccies...
    Mal.
I could go one of those right now! Very nice.

Terrific photos Mal and good feedback on the robusta too. If you hadnt already guessed, I roast this separately and include a little in the Defib.

I dont often offer Robusta as an SO though a couple of my customers will always snap it up in preference to anything else that might be on the shelves.

    LOL... ;D

I didnt have to use Robusta AM, I wanted to try it out as Ive never had much experience with it before, either as part of a blend or as in this case, straight from the bag it arrived in. To be very honest, I probably wouldnt go out of my way to buy any for use as an S.O. but it is nevertheless, a very pleasant brew as a Doppio Piccolo as mentioned above.

Obviously, all Robusta is not the same, in as much as all Arabica is not the same but I think this particular Robusta is definitely worth giving a go either in a blend or as a straight brew. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.... 8-)

    Here you go AM..... 8-)

Some photos of a shot poured today using some of Dens CuppaCoffee Robusta...

Amazing crema from this Robusta to say the least. As an espresso, it wasnt really to my taste though but as a Doppio Piccolo, it is quite a pleasant brew, with a smooth, straight coffee flavour, quite soft on the palate and a lot of body but probably a little single dimensional in flavour profile. I can see why it would be a good blend component though, all that crema and body (and the extra "hit" too of course).

Anyway mate, I do actually use the DJ Extra occasionally and dont just spend half the day polishing all that lovely mirror stainless.... :P

    Cheers ;D
    Mal.
Shame you had to use a Robusta.. I get that from my EM6910

So much BLING it was even reflected in teh glass 8-)
