      Hiya mmm .....

To be quite honest, there is no need to use any kind of protective coating on this sort of s/s finish. Ive had a couple of machines over the years that had this "mirror" finish and all I ever did was wipe it down occasionally with microfibre cloths, one damp and then one dry. This keeps the finish gleaming without the need for any other chemicals to become involved, especially around a food prep area...

Have a look at the finish on this Imat Mokita before I sold it.... A good example 8-)

        This is the place

I rang them and got what I needed instead of the kit, as it is expensive I purchased the 1lt bottle

Re: My new kit! Diadema Reale (Regal) and Macap M4...

          From their website:
"Glassplexin® is the active ingredient in Glare Infinity Plus. It turns to glass on and within the paint surface. No other paint protector withstands acid attacks and high temperatures like Glare Infinity Plus."
          as well as:
"...instead it contains a silicate (Note: Not silicon). Thats glass."

snake oil.... Stuff making claims like this has been sold at County Fairs in the US for decades. it may work well, but after reading those claims on the main page I quit reading and closed the page.

Re: My new kit! Diadema Reale (Regal) and Macap M4...

Looks like a wonderful piece of kit there (looking at splurging on something very similar myself - after the wonderful service from Cosmorex).

What do you think of the doser on the Macap M4 so far? Ive been looking at the doserless (seems someone bought the one with the doser that was there!)

Similarly what do you think of the Pullman?

Any advise from anyone else about the grinder of tampers would be appreciated too! Although I think Ive my mind set on the Diadema Regal.

              Cheers,

              Rowan

It was just there! a small amount in the bottle

The product was originally purchased to treat my cars and
I just used it to polish and protect my machine

                I ask ;D
Cant a man polish his espresso machine once in a while
I am a coffee snob after all :P

                  Hi RP
The doser is great! Ive used doserless before, and find them a bit messy and clumpy, but this is great, especially when you can measure pretty precisely with the segments inside the doser to be able to grind to order (I only sweep out about 1/2 tsp now after each double shot!). It was getting a bit grungy inside, as the sweeper has clearance off the bottom of about 2mm, but Ive just dropped in some little plastic additions (6x rectangles of ice-cream lid at 15x43mm each) which now sweeps the doser unit inside almost to a polish! Might be a bit OTT, but Id rather do this every grind than having to strip down every few weeks!
Ill take a few pics tonight of this mod, + some more detailed of the Regal - there are some great build features!
As to the M4D, it seems like a great machine - but I have a personal thing about electronic additions - they are always the first thing to go!

                  Cheers!

And the Pullman is beautiful - you have to buy a proper tamper anyway (wait till you see the plastic rubbish that comes with the machine!), so for a few dollars extra you get a beautifully crafted, lifetime investment!

                    SOLD!!

                      Hi all!
As promised, a couple of more detailed pics. One of the Macap M4 Cleansweep mod, the microswitch roller bearing operated by the lever cam, the killer drip tray and chassis, and the whole kit close up. The closer I look, the more impressed I am by the build!
PS Picked up a microfibre cloth too - does a great job dry on finger prints! Thanks KK!

The Cleansweep mod - there was no vacuum or brush used in the making of this image!

Yep, the build quality of these machines has to be experienced in order for it to be properly appreciated. Even the little things have been very carefully considered. I imagine youre a bit like me mate, cant wipe the smile off your face.... Still ;D
