It really comes down to how much youre going to push the machine when entertaining. So it depends on the use its going to get.
I recently bought a VBM Junior and havent regretted it. I was tempted by the larger footprint machines eg VBM Domobar Super, Bezzera Domus Galatea, or Rocket Giotto - BUT THE OTHER HALF SAID YOU CAN SPEND WHAT YOU LIKE AS LONG AS ITS NOT TOO BIG. When we went down to Di Bartoli to have a look - she immediately said NO WAY to the bigger machines. Im glad too because some of them are quite deep and on standard kitchen benchtops can only just fit and therefore may have to be put in a corner...
The bigger machines would be more convenient especially when entertaining, but I made 6 milk based coffees back to back the other night with no problems. So dont feel you have to get the bigger machines just because, but if you get a good deal and it fits in your kitchen - Why Not ?
