      yes you can

do a search, read a few of the $3000+ threads about it.

there are a few issues around pump pressure and keeping pump primed etc

your going to have to do some reading.....

          the basics are

          it will work
you need to keep the pump primed as rotarys dont like self priming
either water above / beside pump or backflow preventer in the line
or maybe small presurre pump on the tank

you will need to check pump pressure @ 9bar ish scace or home made gauge, i fit was plumbed prior you need to adjust it.

          whats your location?

Either use Google to search or use the advanced site search.

As you sound like you need complete help a sponsor visit for a chat might be in order. As Maheel has mentioned Yes it certainly can be done with a plastic tank and a few valves and fittings.

I am running my 3 group on a tank and pump but the pump is below the water level so I dont heve the pump issue. I will be setting up another machine at home next week but it too will have an external pump and tank (both on the floor in a rental property.

The real key is eliminating airlocks and keeping the pump primed
