  • VBM Domobar Junior + Compak K3T

I went and saw Roger from Supreme Roasters about 3 months ago, with my mind set on a particular machine. He patiently shared his knowledge and experience with the different machines, which steered me in a better direction and even saved me some money in the process (turns out I didnt really even know what I wanted ;D). With my heart set on buying an espresso machine that day, I left 2 hours later with a Domobar Junior.

Turning the grind on my EM0480 down to super fine, even the first buggered up extraction was WORLDS better than anything I had made at home before. Unfortunately running the Sunbeam right at its limit started to take its toll. The internals of the grinder started to shift and eventually the grind was getting too coarse. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago... I bumped into Roger at a local market, and got to talking..

Exciting times.. I got my K3 Touch home today. What a difference! Took a couple of extractions to get the grind right, and Im making some mind-blowing coffee now.

Id highly recommend anybody who wants a "pointy end" setup go talk to Roger as a matter of priority. He really knows his stuff, and is always eager to help.

The Junior + K3T is a killer combination.

Obligatory pic (the polished surface really shows those specks of dust!):

I have to say that set-up looks great....

And once again great the hear that Rodger is there to assist and guide when ever he can.

Yatala may be a bit south of teh river for some but I have to say that your missing out on a great experience, if you do not drop in at some stage..

Just be prepared to leave all wired with coffee 8-)

The Domo Jr and the K3T certainly look well matched height wise. Perspective could be playing tricks but it looks like you could rest a spirit level across the two.

I have much the sme story as you Shaun, I made an appointment with Roger with a $2,000 budget in mind, I was totally confused on what machine to buy, I think all that coffee that Roger made me got to my head, I walked out with a Rocket Giotto Premium Plus plus a Compak K3. I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I enjoy mine, but I am still hopless at tampering and setting the grind to suit.

              Hi All
              New member and first post
Thanks for all the great information on this site.
After a lot of reading and a couple of phone calls researching to for a replacement for my little old Brevil machine I think I have just about made my mind up on my new machine and grinder, a VBM Junior and a K3T grinder. Im in Perth and hoping someone may have information on where I could purchasing them in Perth.

Hi TJM & welcome. I live in Adelaide and this didnt stop me from buying from Chris at Talk Coffee in Melbourne. I believe he has service agreements with people throughout the country.
