Its a domobar super model 2003 but purchased in 2005. I believe it is the preceding model to yours. It has very similar specs and is a hx, just styled like the piccolo.
Well done on the purchase. I was looking at that machine as well. Assume it is a HX - did you find out its age? I could not find any photos of a Vibiemme that looks like yours other than the Piccolo. Perhaps a Piccolo with hot water added?
I ended up buying a Vibiemme Domobar Super Electronica and like you love this new machine. Cleaned and des called it today and wow, it does make good coffee.
Well done on your purchase. Funny, I just sold my BZ99s as well....
This coffee trip is good fun;-)
Yeah they were just stickers - I think it looks much better without them! I still have a plumbed in bezzera bz99 which will most likely go up for sale soon. It too is a beautiful machine but sadly it wont be able to be plumbed into our new house when we move in 6 weeks time - hence the need to get a machine with a tank.
Got my hands on the Vibiemme today - its a great machine! Doesnt look like its had much use and wasnt very clean but after some buffing, polishing, 2 back flushes and a couple of water tanks full of water Id actually consider drinking something from it! It doesnt seem to have much scale although it would benefit from a de-scale which Ill attempt in the next few weeks.
Whilst its probably too early to claim its the best machine ever, its certainly impressed me greatly after today. Hopefully it will prove as realiable as it is magnificent to look at ;D
Ive attached a few photos
Dirty group head
Back flushing in progress
All clean and ready for a shot!
This is the sink shot after backflushing and my first attempt at steaming some milk on this beast! Its not the best art but respectable for first attempt

If its a Piccolo its a single boiler, not a HX (correct me if Im wrong!)
I dont believe the one they are looking at is the Piccolo. The Piccolo does not have hot water tap - the one being discussed does.
The one I just saw on ebay that matches the description is a HX. Good machine. Expect it to be filthy inside (and then if its not, its a bonus for you) as an awful lot of 2nd hand machines are - but a thorough descale and backflush should be able to sort it out.
If youre close enough as mentioned above, go and see it and check everything works so then youll know if its likely just an internal clean, or if parts and repairs will need to be factored in.

What do you like to drink Wynton? Single boilers come with pros and cons, if youre not looking for the pros or not happy with the cons maybe a cheaper one would be better? Or maybe you want a HX?
