  • Bezzera Domus Galatea

    Hi Everyone

Newbie to forum and looking to part ways with some cash to buy a decent machine (buried my last Breville yesterday). Have my heart set on the Domus but looking for some feedback (+ve and/or -ve) from any owners/experts to help this novice take the plunge.

    Thanks

    Hiya

I have had my Domus Galatea now for 4 years or more. I bought it from Enzo at Di Bartolli Coffee Centre in Sydney. The only thing that has failed on it is a pump after two years. It makes superb coffee as will all machines in this price range.

What I did at Di Bartollis is that Enzo setup for me 6 machines to try - using the same coffee and grinder and all in the $2k-$3k range. There were differences in taste (all were good though) and it came down to two machines both of which made superb coffee.

The Galatea was chosen as the nicely curved metal work attracted me artistically. Others just had flat panels or little bits that I didnt like. It eventually all boils down to what you like to look at best :-)

Thanks Mike - yes I think its now coming down to appearance. Sadly (?) I live in Perth so cant find any place that has these machines to try so going to be a blind leap of faith, hence my trust in your comments!

      Cheers

        I loved my Galatea
The build quality and finish is superb
The panel work is also finished with an absolute minimum of sharp edges

There are 2 stokists in WA
        O Connor and Eaton
