  • Giotto ( standard ) drops all its pressure on first steam pump

    Hi All.

    Long time no post.

My Giotto starts up fine, and heats up well, but I need to crack the steam valve after about 5 minutes to get it to fully be "ready" for a brew.

THe gauge reads good, but all the pressure falls on the first crank of the steam. Then its fine.

Do I have a sticking valve somewhere ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Craig,

You need to replace the anti-vac valve.

While you wait to repair it, make sure you fire up with the steam valve open. Should you forget, you can contaminate the boiler with milk if you don't purge the wand prior to texturing milk.
