Nah I didn't, I'm pretty confident it was because there was no water in the boiler. The heating element would have over heated and must have over drawn current and tripped the switch. It only did it twice in a row then when I manually filled the boiler up it hasn't tripped the switch since and I've had it running quite a few times now for extended periods and using all functions.
-So basically received the machine dry as it was in storage for a few months tripped the safety switch due to no water in boiler.
-Filled the boiler manually and it worked and heated perfectly.
-Then I wasn't getting any water to the group head.
-Cleaned the blocked jet (Which must of set with a bit of scale when it was stored for those few months)
-All functions working perfectly!
I've made about 10 coffee's over the past 2 days and oh boy it's good to have some quality coffee around the place now.

Good to hear that you have it up and running again. I may have missed it when reading through the thread but did you work out what caused your safety switch to trip when you were initially testing the machine?Originally posted by brendogs View PostOnce I re-assembled everything switched her on and once it heated up PRESTO! So as you can see the machine's internals are almost spotless, it was in storage for a few months so it's fairly dusty but now that I have it working and pulling excellent coffee's I'll be giving it a thorough clean down and I'll get it all back together ASAP.
Not quite sure what the future of this machine will be. Either going to put it in the kitchen at work so I can enjoy lovely coffee's at work (Nespresso's capsules are terrible!), put it alongside the Vibiemme Domobar Super or it may possibly find itself in the for sale section if it doesn't work out in those 2 locations.
For the next couple weeks though, I'll be enjoying coffee's while I slowly rebuild the Domobar

I just finished pulling the 3 way valve apart and everything was clean as! Then I pulled the jet out and it was blocked up pretty badly. I've stripped the 3 way valve and gave it a clean in some descale even though it was spotless. I got a pin and pushed out the gunk that got through the filter and sat it in some descale.
Once I re-assembled everything switched her on and once it heated up PRESTO! Working perfectly!
I'm absolutely rapt that I got it working because I haven't had a coffee for a couple weeks because my Vibiemme Domobar is out of action while I'm waiting for all my parts to get polished!
I'll continue to use this machine and I'll probably run a descale through it. It's a great machine and after dialing it in, I made a beautiful couple of coffees. I'm so happy with it and how it all worked out even though it had me scratching my head for a while. I'll get a few photo's up

I've just pulled it out and I'll pull it to bit's tomorrow and see if I can see any blockages inside the 3 way valve. I hope it's just blocked so I can make some coffee's with this thing! I've always wanted to get one of these machines.

Problem will probably be the three way valve then, broken, blocked or disconnected

I just checked that and yes water comes out of that tube but nothing out of the group head.

When its pumping because of the pump switch but nothing comes out the head you can take the opv return tube out of the water tank and look at the flow, if the machine has all its original parts it will be the tube without a plastic attachment on the end

Ok so I've made quite a stupid error since getting this on the bench. I read through that thread CafeLotta and the reason nothing has been happening is because there is no microswitch on these machine and it works on pressure. I had the water tank sitting on the side and it wasn't the correct height to make enough pressure for it to realize there was water! So stupid me made a silly mistake.
Anyway now that I have realized that, I have filled the tank up manually by removing the anti vac valve and with a funnel I filled it up just over half way. Then I've turned it on and everything works as normal! Hooray! The pump is priming and filling the tank up to it's normal levels then the elements are firing up and heating the water up fine without tripping the safety switch. Now the only issue is the pump is not pumping water through the group head, it sounds like it's working but nothing is coming through, it does sound like it's struggling a tiny bit so I need to inspect the water lines but I still have a sneaky suspicion that the pump is faulty. I had to give it a hit before to fire it up properly because it sounded like it was working at about 20% then once I gave it a knock it sounded normal(ish).
It sounds normal when it's refilling the boiler, but when it's pumping through the group head when I hit the cup switch it sounds like it's half blocked...
Is it possible the pump is blocked or semi blocked? What tests could I do on a pump?

Found this thread, may be of use if you haven't spotted it yet.Originally posted by brendogs View PostElement disconnected, no pump...
Cup switch isn't working either. Have a small feeling it's either the control box or the pump now.

Here's another with a different suggestion -
My s24 all of a sudden stopped heating water and shut off, now - FixYa

Try the Boiler heating element disconnect as per previous post. See if the pumps works etc.Originally posted by brendogs View PostOk I have a feeling something like that may have happened. I switched it on this morning and nothing at all. Pump didn't prime, heating element didn't engage, cup switch didn't initiate nothing at all! Grrr
My mate has given it to me, I'm basically doing a few jobs for him and he's paying me with this so it's a good deal if I can fix it up give it a nice clean and then forward it on to someone who is in the market.
