    Hi Mr Jack,
You are making real progress there...

I have used a product called "Roadkill" (bought from Autobarn) for acoustic insulation. It works well.

    I agree with Mal...it's A-L-I-V-E!!

    Cheers,
    Paolo

Look into Dynamat for this, there's some other threads about talking about it.

I've used dynamat before in cars. I presume once the boiler is insulated, heat retention in the insulated case is less of a problem for the pump (I have seen concerns about this on other machines)

I put some StP (similar to Dynamat but better) on the metal walls of my Bez Domus Galatea. It didn't make any difference in terms of noise of the machine...not sure the effect on boiler temp.

I believe only some of the noise can be attributed to case panel reverberation, which is why I think it may be worth putting in some sound absorbing foam sheet, essentially encasing the whole pump area, from the tank shroud back. If I can leave enough clearance for airflow, don't block too many vents, and insulate the boiler, I hope I can avoid overheating the pump (which is apparently a concerb when sound deadening panels etc.).

On a semi related note, does anyone know a good (cheap) source for:
                - silicone foam insulation
                - small brass valves (1/4" to suit boiler piping)
                - brass fittings to suit the above.
