    Just a quick update.

Got the Mitica last week. Absolutely love it.

Still settling in with the machine but I'll get there!

    Thanks for your helpful posts!

There's nothing inside them that's particularly different from any other dual boiler machine.
you can get the exploded parts diagrams from their website and i know the Jetblack Espresso website lists every part for them.
Plus you're a hell of a lot closer to Italy than we are

I'd like to know what a "service" actually consists of?
Apart from a thorough cleaning, there's nothing to do really.
I guess measuring/ observing the activation temperatures and pressures of the thermostats and pressure relief valves.
maybe changing the seals and checking the connections for tightness and signs of a leak. But really, anyone who's competent in putting fittings on a garden hose should be able to do it.
The more expensive the machine, the simpler and easier to work on they tend to be

    Brilliant - thanks Nick.

Might need to get in touch for some advice on the Mitica.

I've just pulled the trigger. Mine should arrive in a couple of days.

I've just recently upgraded from a Bezerra BZ02 to a Mitica TOP, which gives you the option to use with a tank or plumbed in. I currently have a dry bar area dedicated to my coffee addiction, but will definitely look at plumbing in the machine when we next move house so the tank/plumbed option was important to me.
The "top" version also incorporates a rotary pump (almost silent) and HD pressurestat.

My wife and I also prefer milk based drinks, so steaming ability was an important consideration. After constant disappointment with the steaming ability of the BZ02 for over 7yrs (and putting it down to bad technique on my part), my first attempt with the Mitica resulted in perfect, silky microfoam in half the time it took with the BZ02.
It's taken me a little while to understand the nuances of the E61, but after a couple of weeks consistently pulling great shots I'm very happy with my purchase.

After using the BZ02 for almost 7 yrs, it still looks like new. So I have no doubts about the build quality of Bezzera machines.

Please feel free to PM/reply if you need any further info.

    Cheers, Nick.

I can't comment on those specific machines, but Im using a 14yo + Bezzera BZ99S, and it's great! Very sturdy and easy to use (HX machine which heats up in under 10 mins). So if that is anything to go on...

    Bezzera Magica / Mitica

    Hi everyone,

Just about to pull the trigger on a new machine. I'd appreciate someone sanity checking the choices....

I'm looking for HX, e61 machines. Would like to think that I'm buying quality that will last....

A bit of history: I've just moved over to England with the family. So no longer looking for a machine in Aus.

We mostly drink milk based coffees, though I usually start the day off with a single shot heart-starter I have 3-4 Caps a day and the better half has 2-3 lattes.

I came over to the UK looking to grab the Le'lit pl60t, after sanity checking that @ JetBlackEspresso. Great service BTW - a big thx!

Anyway, I've since done a bit more research, and after talking to a few people over here I am now looking at the Bezzera's. Namely the Magica or the Mitica.

There's only a ~100 pound difference in price, so I'm a little torn. The Magica I can grab at ~1000gbp and the Mitica for ~1100gbp.

I'll match the machine with an existing Mazzer mini btw.

Thoughts on these machines? Should I be looking at any other machines for this price range?

    Any help much appreciated!
Working...
