Never ever really had this problem as such.

After the weekly Cafetto clean and flush out, all that is needed is a seasoning shot (down the sink) and everything moves as smooth as silk again. The natural coffee oils do a pretty good job on their own...

Chris is correct Rob, I back flush using about 1/3 of a teaspoon once a week.
The squeaking/roughness/feel you hear is metal on metal and it's causing wear, I descale every three months and lubricate the cam etc with a light smear of Inox, available from Jaycay.

    Hi Rob,

Too much! Keep backflush detergent to 1/3 teaspoon once weekly. Once the exhaust runs clean, switch to water. You shouldn't need to lubricate more than once or twice yearly.

    Cheers

    Cleaning and lubrication

    H Guys,
I just wanted to know how often you lubricate your e61 cams ?
The reason is that every time I backflush with detergent the lever action seems to get rough and dry.
I clean with detergent often, about half to three quarters of a scoop of detergent and I find I am constantly having to re-lubricate each time because the lever gets rough.

What do you guys normally do?
How often do you use detergent, how much and also how often do you need t re-lubricate the lever action?

    Thanks
    Rob
