  • Expobar office leva 2

    Hi CS,

Just need your expertise I can't seem to find any information about Expobar office leva 2. Is it also known as Expobar Minore 2? Is it also known as Expobar Brewtus 2? Does it have PID? Coz I was told that it is not a PID.

    Thanks

Hey kaftan. You didn't look at any of the links..............

When someone takes the time and makes an effort to look for the info you are asking for the least you could do is check it out.

The first link on the page provided is to a very detailed review.

Hi Chokkidog, yes i did look at the link but it just shows the results of google "Office Leva2"

Trust me I did search the link and click as many URL as possible but it still doesn't give me any information stating that Office leva 2 is AKA Minore 2 or AKA brewtus 2. But on Youtube the machine looks the same. But when I search for "Office leva" it shows a machine without the temp gauge on the left. But the code that the seller showed me states it's (Office leva 2) and he said it's aka minore 2.

          Thanks

The Machine looks like this link > Expobar Brewtus II - Coffeetime

This is the closest I can find but I can't find any information stating that office leva2 is brewtus or minore

The Office Leva is a single boiler machine with no PID ( 2nd link on provided google page).

The Office Leva 2 is a dual boiler PID machine ( 1st and 7th link ).

The first link implies naming variations.

I think it depends what country you are in as to the names.
I was always under the impression that in Australia, the Office Leva was a single boiler HX machine and the Minore was the dual boiler version.
The Minore is up to version IV here and has a PID.

However, in other countries, the Minore is/was called Brewtus and looking at the page of the manufacturer (creminternational) it seems that they simply call them:
                OFFICE LEVA EB-61 1 GR
                OFFICE LEVA EB-61 1 GR 2 BOILERS

There is about a $500 difference between the single and dual boiler versions, so perhaps that can give you an indication.

                Brett.

Thanks Chokkidog. What would be a good price for a 5 year old with 7/10 condition ? $1000? Or if the price difference is like 200aud would you go for a minore 3?

Sometimes it's so confusing. Apparently in this link > http://www.bellabarista.co.uk/pdf/Ex...feeMachine.pdf the leva2 aka brewtus 2 have some major issues and the brewtus 3 is a big improvement. But what is confusing is that page 7 of 18 the pic of the code is office leva 2 but the review is about brewtus 3.

Funny this is the pic that the seller showed me shows the code says it's office leva 2 but the pic of the PID is not the same as the article of brewtus 3

Well I have a Minore II which is also known as the Brewtus II. I have not heard it referred to as a Leva2 before, but it is definately a dual boiler, cool touch wand without PID.
Minore III added a PID and a different power switch I believe and Minore IV might have changed the type of PID in use (a colour of the LED's from red to blue).
I did use a Minore III a while back and thought that it had better steam power and recovery than my model.

I have had my Minore II since 2006 (purchased from Talk Coffee) and have had a couple of issues over the journey, but nothing particularly serious. Control board failing was probably the worst of it, but was fixed for ~$100 a few years back.

Had it in for a service a while back (seals, o-rings and NOT A DESCALE) and it came back feeling like it was new again. I have a Brita C150 water filtration kit, so the machine is pretty good from a scale perspective.

So personally, very happy with my Minore II and have been producing great coffee on it (so modest) for 7 years now.

                      Brett.

PS - The machine in the PDF looks like what we in AU refer to as the Minore III.

                        Hi Brett,

Thanks for your input. Yeah I can't seem to find anything that says office leva2 is aka brewtus or minore II. Having said that like i said with my previous post the person that reviews brewtus iii, have a stamp stating office leva 2 page 7/18. So it is really confusing.

If you have a choice again would you still buy the minore ii?

                          5 yo ...........7/10 (whose rating?)..............service history?.............water filtration/scale?.........uncertain of what model it is?

                          $1000?

                          Not for me.

The BB review isn't confusing when you read the intro........... first sentence.

That machine at that time... certainly.
I tried out a couple of others at the time. The 'Makin' Maver was around at that point too. Ultimately I went for the Minore II at the time as Chris had an ex-demo that had done around 20 shots for a very good price, and I liked how it felt when I made coffee with it.

If I was buying a new or replacement machine today, I would personally lean towards the Bezzerra Domus Galatea. I like the design. However, I would still do what has been suggested to people time and time again on this forum: Go to a retailer and see if you can actually test drive some of the machines. It's a fair investment and you don't want to end up with a machine that has a small (or big) thing that annoys you every time you make coffee. It could be the size of the drip tray, the position of a gague or how the steam wand works for you. And then... buy the machine off the person who helped you out.

I know, this might not seem helpful for second hand purchases, but you might find that the second hand machine is not operating as wonderfully as the seller might indicate.

I certainly would like to try and make a coffee on the 2nd hand machine before I bought it (if possible).

                            Brett.

Oops just noticed auto correct at work ( post#13)........."The BeanBay review" should be Bella Barista review; apologies.

To clear up any confusion about what the seller is offering you would need to eyeball the machine and take the top cover off to see the insides, as per the Bella Barista review,
( and use it, as Brett suggests) or at least have photos of the inside showing the number of boilers and the general condition of the machine.
Can you post the pics the seller has sent you? Someone like Brett may be able to verify which machine it is.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the name of the machine as it's not uncommon for the exact same build to have different names,
according to which market it is. More importantly, for you, it seems to be whether or not it's the single or double boiler machine. (??)

Brett offers good advice in the above post.
