  • Rancilio Heating Element Replacement

Okay, here is my situation. My Rancilio S26 didn't heat up any more one morning. When I opened it up, the heating element showed heat damage on one connector. When I tried to replace the wiring the thread snapped of and the ceramic spacer cracked. The two nuts were both molten, etc. Now with the thread too short and the spacer broken I can't reconnect the wires.

Now I was wondering what the best way is to repair this. It seems a shame to replace the whole heating element just because one connector is broken, but then again, it will prove difficult even to source a new spacer and then solder on a new thread.

    Any thoughts?

Pic would help however may I suggest using a tunnel connector on the stub?
