Hey guys, after some advice on my new ECM Mechanika with vibe pump. Is there any issues or potential harm in leaving the machine running for hours at idle? If im home of a weekend etc I tend to use the machine 4-5 times a day every few hours. Is there any issue with leaving it to run all day? Im not sure how much electricity it would take, I guess less if its not having to heat from cold every few hours.

As long as its not overnight it ought to be fine - theyre wonderfuly reliable machines. I find its very quick to recover my HX between 4-hour cooldowns though, you can tell how much latent heat is there from the warmth of the group head.
It WILL use more energy, but couldn't be too significant compared to say... the cost of the machine itself

So long as you or another competent person is always around when it's turned On, that's fine.
Never leave it turned On when no-one's home, for obvious reasons....

Large café machines are on for a considerable time, so can't see why the ECM should be any different. I can vouch for what Burr said as I also own an ECM - its probably left switched on most days for 4-5 hours.Comment
