G'day all.
Over the last few months, I had noticed my Giotto didn't have the steaming power it used to.
I was unable to steam my milk to obtain micro foam. It wouldn't even roll the milk. It'd scream.
Anyway, I decided to pull the steam tap out and pull it apart.
Well, what can I say. It was totally clogged up with muck!
I've had this machine since 2008, and it cops a flogging.
It gets back flushed and descaled regularly.
Is there any chemical that can be used to maintain the steam tap/wand or do you have to take it all apart to clean it?
Also, my machine went in for a major service about a year ago. Should this have been checked/cleaned?
All advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Jim
