Yes Bezzera don't have a dual boiler variant so the PID benefits on this model are very subjective.Originally posted by symphonie View PostBezzera does not make dual boiler machines as far as I know. Mitica top is probably no exception. And it seems there's a consensus here that PID does not give you extra performance on HX.
Mitica vs R58 I'd take R58 any day of the week, but it all comes down to if you need/can justify the cost of a dual boiler or not.
I would imagine pricing is different, but if its a dual boiler PID machine you want the R58 would be my choice here.

Hey Matt, thanks for the welcome, I appreciate your comments
The Bezerra is actually a MITICA TOP, PID version as offered by its distro here
It has a dual boiler, rotary pump with temp controlled via PID
I'm in Manila, by the way
There are other brands available here, however the models for sale are either too expensive or have none
of the features that I THINK an espresso machine should have
Any idea what the top selling brands in Australia are far as these machines are concerned ?
thanks

Hi blademan. As it's your first post. Welcome to CS!
Are you located in US?
I noticed that you posted this question on HB.
As far as I know the Mitica PID is not yet available in AU.
And no spec of it that I can find on the Bezzera .it
I have seen mention of it at trade show videos but no more details.
The rocket r58 is dual boiler with PID and the standard Mitica is heat exchanger. Unless the PID version is a departure from that.
I notice Bezzera have a lot more models available around the world than are available in AU.
Let us know if you find anything on the Mitica PID spec.
That leaves the Rocket as the winner based on the two options you've given as least in the AU market. The Rocket should give you better temp stability. Some would argue better build quality and looks too.
Interested to know how you came to these two machines?
