    Thanks heaps for the reply
The tank has two metal prongs which are wired directly back to the red switch in the photos which I assume are tank level sensor. There is a similar probe in the top of the boiler. I can find a manual for the CKX but it is an updated model and is quite different from what I can see in manual.
I am not sure if boiler is full of water, I would have to remove one of the valves on top to see and I haven't got that excited about it yet as I am thinking it is probably something simple.

Don't know that particular machine but most will kill element and pump if they don't sense water in the boiler and / or tank.

Have you searched to try and find a manual?

Some machines also have a tube that goes inside the tank to sense level (head of water activates pressure switch - some lachimbali/Faema machines have this. If the hose has a hole it won't register the pressure or if the tank isn't full.

Is the boiler full or water? Be careful you don't fry the element. If it is empty it might feel cool but element might still be getting power and will cook.

    Cheers

HELP! Sanremo Compact CK not heating or pumping

I just acquired a Sanremo Compact CK (older version) which had been a backup machine for a cafe of a family member and well looked after. They had it serviced and placed in storage and decided they no longer needed it. I plugged it in filled the internal tank and turned machine on, it makes an audible solenoid click but the pump does not engage to fill the boiler and the machine does not heat up.
I am thinking that it might be left in plumbed in mode rather than tank mode as the machine has been used both ways in past however I don't seem to be able to get it to go. Have thrown the switch on the side that is under the black plastic hood assuming this is to switch between plumbed and tank but it does not rectify the issue.
