Turns out because I ran the machine with a totally empty tank, the new element safety thermostat tripped and I hadn't noticed. To reset it you need to push the "red cross" button on the back of the thermostat. Image below to help others...

Troubleshooting Rancilio S24 Issue
Hello,
I have a Rancilio S24 that was working great for over 10 years until it blew the house circuit breaker after making a few cups of coffee.
I suspected a bad heating element and/or element safety thermostat, so I've replaced both of those.
When I turned on the machine, it filled the tank, then started to heat up... but only for about a minute.
Now when I empty the tank by running the group, the tank no longer refills and I can't get the thing to heat up.
Any ideas on where to point me in the right direction to fix this? Could it be the control box? or another electrical issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Tags: None
