No disrespect Grillsy but that could end up as an unbalanced shot as all your taking is the start of the pour. For the cost of $0.50 (saying a 20gm doses is $1) id just stick to doubles and if only want half the pour then let the pour from one side of portafilter fall in the drip tray. Easier then changing back and fourth from doubles and singles. If your only ever going to pull single shots (say 7-10g) then maybe try finding a better single basket like 'the single' that IMS make as may given better results the the stock single basket.

I would forget about the single basket and just use the double and stop the shot early for less strength. I have never got a good coffee from a single.
    Food for thought [emoji189]

You'd think the dealer could have thrown a tamper in with that set up

Congrats on that one. I have the same machine AND the same grinder and have no regrets at all. Magic !

    Thanks guys!

The crema seems better now but if it happens again I'll post pics/video.

Is it possible to see a picture? I am curious as I haven't heard of this before either.

Well done Homer, great looking setup.

"lumpy instead of flowing nicely through the milk? I've never seen this behaviour before so it's quite odd to me."
I've not experienced it either, perhaps others can help.

I did just that and purchased the Profitec Pro 500 and Eureka Atom grinder from Chris.

    One question,
Is the crema on top normally thick enough so when you pour milk in it sort of goes lumpy instead of flowing nicely through the milk? I've never seen this behaviour before so it's quite odd to me.

I'm in Brisbane so unfortunately there do not appear to be anywhere that has machines that are able to be demo'd.

    Thanks Renzo,

    I'll certainly consider it.
