  • Bezzera Mitica or profitec pro 500?

    Hi guys,

I am pretty over my Breville Dual Boiler machine giving me grief and it has now given me the err3 message which cannot be reset by myself, so it seems to be stuffed. I'm looking at these two machines, the profitec pro 500 and the Bezzera Mitica.

No idea what is better however I'm leaning towards the Pro 500 as I prefer the looks and it rates pretty well.

    Cheers guys,
    Homer

I think Bezzera Mitica is better as it's a rotary pump so you can plumb in if you want

Nothing to pick between them, quality-wise...

You'd be best served by arranging a "hands-on demo" visit with one of our Site Sponsors or another reputable specialist retailer, and then trialling each of the machines. Both machines may not be available on the same premises of course...

      Mal.

Pick the one you prefer the looks. quality wise they are on par. AFAIK only Mitica Top has the rotary pump.

          Thanks guys,

I'm not keen on the levers on the Bezzera and the rotary pump is another $300 so I'm leaning towards the Pro 500.

I'm also considering the The Rocket Mozzafiato Evoluzione R and Rocket Giotto Evoluzione R

I'm in Brisbane so unfortunately there do not appear to be anywhere that has machines that are able to be demo'd.

                Thanks Renzo,

                I'll certainly consider it.

HLB, in Brisbane! why not check out Barazi Bezzera at Woolloongabba, good people to deal with, they certainly stand behind the highly respected Bezzera name.

I did just that and purchased the Profitec Pro 500 and Eureka Atom grinder from Chris.

                    One question,
Is the crema on top normally thick enough so when you pour milk in it sort of goes lumpy instead of flowing nicely through the milk? I've never seen this behaviour before so it's quite odd to me.

Pic of new setup in its temporary home until our new home is built.

I've not experienced it either, perhaps others can help.

Is it possible to see a picture? I am curious as I haven't heard of this before either.

                          Thanks guys!

The crema seems better now but if it happens again I'll post pics/video.

Congrats on that one. I have the same machine AND the same grinder and have no regrets at all. Magic !

Get a better tamper and it'd look perfect.
