  • Bezzera Galatea Domus won't heat up

    Hi all
I have turned my Bezzera Galatea Domus on this morning and have found it will not build pressure or heat up. Both lights (orange and green) on the front panel are lit up.
Any simple things I can check with my voltmeter before I take it for a service etc.
    TIA
    Chris

OK, I've found a small relay which seems to power the heater in the boiler and it does not seem to click on when the machine is turned on. Anyone had a problem with these before?
    Thanks

      Hx machine? Doesnt matter anyway.
The element is powered whenever machine is plugged in. So dont be poking around under the covers with the maching plugged in.
You need continuity from the active to the element relay on the control board. Any breaks need to be traced and asked why.
Typically the items that are in series are element, overheat fuse, pressurestat. Check these items all have continuity.

        In order of probability

        Pressurestat , board, element..

My advice, take it to a service centre.

240V is not something to be played with

        Cheers

Take it for a service it could be as simple of:
          Anti vacum valve
          Pressure switch
this machine has an extra relay for safety
          Heating Element
          Control Board

          Regards

            Hi

If its one with a water container (i.e. not plumbed in) then there are two screws at the bottom of the water container that detect if the water level is OK. Check that they make contact with the two contacts that they need to make contact with as the water container is inserted.
Turn off the machine, unplug it, take out the water container and check those contacts. Are they clean? Reinsert water container and plug in and turn on machine again. It's just a minor check.

Renzo from Di Bartoli knows these machines very well, as per his post. If your not in Sydney check what CS sponsor is near where you are and drop it in for a service. Hope its back in service soon for you :-)
