Nice work. Good to see they cleaned my fingerprints off that machine. I was very tempted to pick it up.

Hopefully won't take long to refine the grind, dose, tamp etc so you're pulling perfect shots.

Don't get hung up on a wet puck. My pucks became sludgy after I upgraded to a pull man basket. Coffee is great even though puck is wet

I'll try... it's just messy and I hate it! The extraction looks perfect and the coffee tastes great.

Congrats on the new machine. Couldn't find much information on the ECM Barista when I was searching a while back but came across this article from the UK. Sometimes specs vary between Europe and Australia but nonetheless the article may be of interest. It appears to be a few years old so there also may have been some updates (or not?).

            Congrats Nicole - lovely machine.
I am intrigued about your grinder dosing cup though – are you using a 400g VST basket in that puppy?!?

LOL, this grinder is crazy messy so I removed the pegs where you are supposed to rest the portafilter and just grind into a container and then pour it into my basket. The shoot where the ground coffee comes out is too wide and points the wrong way and I was putting more coffee on the floor than in my portafilter so this was my hack!

Would have needed to clean mine off as well.

                  Well done Nicole.
