  • New machine advice.

    Hi everyone.
I have had a Rancilio Silvia pid for about 4 years now and recently refurbished a fiorenzato t80.
I am tired of temp surfing to make milk based drinks. I am going to look at a brand new Bezzera BZ02s manual machine priced at $800 which I might even get cheaper.

My question is although I believe this to be a good deal should I hold out to buy an e61 machine used at around $1500?
Are e61's a large improvement over the Bezzera?

I make 3 milk based coffees a day and 5 when we have guests.
    Thanks

The Bezzera BZ-02 series of machines are great performers.
My son owned one for quite a while and it produced some of the sweetest espresso I've ever had.
All things being equal, you won't notice any difference in the cup between the little Bezz' and any E-61 based machine - I couldn't...

    Mal.

      Yeah thanks Maz.
An e61 would cost me double and be a used item.
Perhaps it's too good a deal to pass.

Parts for the BZ-02 are still very easy to get so there should be no concerns about longevity and future support...
        I'd go for it.

Thats a breville price for a machine that will last many years. sounds like a bargain.

The E61 look great (to me). With the right technique and ingredients you wont be disappointed with the BZ02, I doubt you would taste the difference (regularly). Probably an assessment on looks, value, new vs old by yourself to decide what suits best.

          Cheers

Thanks everyone. I've dialed in the new machine somewhat and am very happy so far. I'm getting some sweet notes that I've never had in the cup before.
