Getting to know my new machine :)

I kinda wish I'd kept my silvia for when I go glamping. It was portable enough to put in the camper trailer easily. The E61 machine is just too big. It's also nice to have a capable backup for that week or so a year when the E61 is in for a service. Don't be in too big a hurry to move it on

You might be pleasantly surprised by advertising the Silvia locally.
Lots of real coffee lovers live out in the sticks...

Hi
Silvias are still in demand by those that know how to get the best out of them (temperature surfing). Posting is expensive and carries the risk of damage. I'd suggest pickup only or deliver. That does limit your market area to nearby (100 km or so?) and hence a lower selling price. I think the gain of a higher price by selling to someone in Sydney region will be lost on postage and insurance.
For a pickup you can always show them how to use it so they know it works and how to get a nice shot. They will leave knowing that it can make a good shot with good beans and a skilled operator.

Congrats E61 are the ducks nuts!
Rancilio Silvias are still in good demand second hand, assuming it is a version 1 with the black steam dial used they go for $250-$300 if it is a newer one with silver steam dial $350-$450 plus.
Given you are a rural seller you may have to be prepared to post. There is a good buy/sell section on coffee snobs and I find Facebook marketplace good for local sales, then Gumtree is OK.

Getting to know my new machine :)
Hey all,
I have not posted here for a long time! I have been plugging away with my Silvia for the last 13 years or so, but finally upgraded last week! After much deliberation I bought a Lumina from Di Bartoli in Sydney (as I understand it, an ECM Mechanika (now discontinued) with a few tweaks and a Di Bartoli logo!).
I'm very happy with the coffees produced in the two weeks or so since I took custody and am enjoying my e61 journey. But would be happy to hear if anyone has any pearls of wisdom they wish to share about moving from the Silvia to an e61 machine.
Side question - What do you think my chances of selling the 13 year old Silvia are? and what would be a fair price to ask? I should note that I live in Regional NSW (about 6 hours from Sydney) so that may limit my opportunities.
Happy coffee journeys !!
