In adition to this, a while back I noticed what appeared to be a portion of an O ring come out of the actual articulation joint. Is this a repair that I could attempt myself or would I be advised to take it to an authorised repairer? There is no leaking coming from the joint itself, only when the nut comes loose about the wand. The machine is out of warranty. I would need steering in regards to sourcing parts also.

Should be an easy repair Matt, probably an O ring or similar that needs replacing, Coffee Parts, a site sponsor, should be able to help.
