      Re: ECM Giotto Problems

Just had to replace the "Black Box" on my Giotto premium, had it on a good spike busting power board to try and prevent this from happening, but such is life.

Bobby at ECM got a replacement down to me post haste, but it was different to the one that came out, no problem with that, but it meant that I couldnt use the photos I had taken of the old wiring to connect up the new one.
The new one has the actual wiring colours on it, but in italian :P

OK, I thought, I ride Italian bikes, I can translate, with a little help from my Guzzi manual :

Thought I would post the conversion for anybody else who has to do the same thing

      Old black box.

      New black box.

        Great info Andy..... 8-)

Any chance of reducing the size of those wider images, they dont quite fit within the width of the page making it necessary to scroll up and down the page each time you need to scan across them, might be annoying to some.... :-?

        Mal.

        Thanks Andy

Spoke to Chris at ECA and turns out I had the wrong seal in the wrong place - it doesnt even go in there. The seals I needed to replace I didnt even know were there - pulled then out and they were completely worn out as they sit around the lever shaft that rotates in them. The 2 grooves in the shaft are grease pits. I replaced the correct seal and it works sweet - no drips.

Ill post the correct lever handle parts explosion soon.

My lever developed a leak a few weeks ago and i ordered
          new teflon gasket
          the 2 rubber gaskets
          and a new sleeve

put it all back together and still have a leak

following the exploded view diagram online i think i put it together properly

          group stem cam inserted
teflon gasket onto cam holder fitting
the the 2 rubber seals onto the stem clam
          sleeve
          spring
          cam holder plug
          then the handle

          is this the correct way

          Thanks
