  • ECM Classika II PID - Orange Control Lamp Blinking

    Hi all,

I have recently purchased ECM Classika PID from Dipacci and have a question about the Orange control lamp for heating element. When the desired temperature has been reached (93 degrees), the Orange control lamp for heating continues to be blinking and on the manual it states the the lamp should switched off when the machine is ready for use after the temperature is reached. Should I be concerned with this? I have left my machine on for 30min to over 1hr and the lamp still blinks continuously. I have pulled two espresso shots so far and it tastes fine.

    Appreciate the help.

    Cheers,
    E

    Hi all,

I emailed ECM directly and they confirmed the PID control always sends the signal to the heating that it should keep the temperature, so it flashes in a fast rhythm. This is actually not a machine fault.

It turns out the light is hardwired to the element circuit and will flash whenever power is seen to the element. It is likely that the translated German manual may have been a bit misleading but the flashing orange light is very typical of almost all ECM machines when they are up to temperature.

    Cheers,
    E
