Hi all, I am negotiating with a site sponsor to buy an izzo vivi and was surprised to learn that the one they have in stock has levers for steam and hot water rather than knobs. They say they can change it for me if I wish. I have two questions 1. does a lever/joystick make it harder to steam small milk volumes and are there other pluses and minuses? 2. Is there a different version of vivi that I've not heard of and if so are the specs otherwise the same as the one commonly for sale in oz? Any help appreciated . Cheers David

I haven't used joystick knobs before, always had rotary valves on the machines I've bought.
From what I understand, if you want to run a joystick controller at less than full volume, you have to hold it at that position meaning you need both hands to steam. Then again, I rarely run my steam at less than full blast whether steaming a 300ml or 600ml jug.. The advantage of a joystick is that it is one movement to turn it on.
It comes down to preference and if you think you would rather have rotary valves, ask the sponsor to change them as offered.

Thanks guys I have raised it with the sponsor and they have sort of answered my questions I think they're a bit busy. I was hoping to get thoughts from someone who has used steam levers . Dave

I agree with Mal, your site sponsor is more likely to appreciate the differences between joystick and rotary valves having tried a variety of machines. Ask them again if you feel you didn't get satisfactory answers the last time..

Hi Dave, The Vivi that Jet Black has is the first of a steam/ water lever option we are introducing to Australia. There is no difference with the machine other than the taps/lever. It really is a personal preference on what is better.
We are introducing steam/water lever options on all Izzo models from November arrival. Our next shipment will have a 50/50 split on taps/levers. We saw it as a nice option to offer customers.
Cheers Antony
