+1 on either Lelit Mara X or Elizabeth, they were the final contenders after months of research. I needed user friendly (for the sake of my dear wife's equilibrium as she uses it unassisted for a couple of weeks at a time) and relatively compact. My beloved Expobar Minore iv really wasn't doing it for her.
DaveCUK has a couple of excellent reviews and other YouTube clips on both. In the end I went with the Mara X based on its design and build features, personally not being a huge fan of elaborate electronics, and 6 months later I am a very happy user.
It truly is a unicorn, a temperature stable, walk up and pull a shot E61 HX... just watch DaveC's vids first, lol.
BUT: If highly precise temperature control is a priority I'd go the Elizabeth.
Either machine is capable of pulling shot afer shot after shot - not commercial levels, but fine for social/family thanks to very clever design

I would second the suggestion of the MaraX. One of the best bang for buck HX e61 machines out there in the market currently, with the added bonus of actually addressing the drawbacks of temp stability of the e61 grouphead with their new temp technology. Don't own one either myself, since I'm an avid lever enthusiast, but have been looking into potentially a semi-automatic machine to complement my lever, with the MaraX being a high contender so far

Depends on your preferences as to what might suit you, are you worried about aesthetics, build quality, brand reputation, quick heat up times, or gauges and functions, toggle switches or turn knobs etc?

I'm going through the same process currently and I've narrowed down my choices based on certain things

And if you don't have your heart set on a E61-type machine, the Lelit Elizabeth dual boiler would also be worthy of your consideration.

I have kept this to under $2500 :- Isomac Tea Due $2399, Exobar office Leva $2220, Lelit Mara PL 62X $2199, Bezzera BZ10 $2340. My pick would be the Lelit Mara PL62X, I don't own one but it looks like a very well put together machine from a quality manufacture, great features and a good price. Maurice

Use the "quote" icon at bottom right of page to send out to Coffeesnob sponsors for their best deals. Give them a price range, what sort of coffees you drink etc. That will give a start point. Sounds like a Heat exchange machine will do the trick. Make sure you have a good water filter system to supply the new machine, ie. not a jug filter. Excellent choice of grinder that you have picked. Maurice.

    New Machine

    Hi All,
Been looking around these threads for a while and need some help deciding on the best machine to suit my needs. Was fortunate enough to get some good advice on the grinder option which ive now settled with and going for the Eureka Mignon Specialita. I now need to decide on a machine.
We mostly have lattes over espresso's (maybe a 3-1 ratio) and also have family over often for a coffee so i need a good machine that can do both very well and in a timely manner. I dont want to be pulling a shot and then having to wait for the steamer to be ready (eg the ECM Classica PID). Id like a relatively easy to use machine that i can use from day 1 and yet can still tweak as i get more experienced.
Im open to all suggestions (hoping in the 1.5K to 2.5K range) as ive seen so many brands out there and my head is spinning
Working...
