Agreed- most likely pump and do replace the anti-cavitation valve (aka stop valve) at the same time- preferably with a brass one if yours has plastic fitted.
Chances are the repairers tested cold when a pump will more often tend to behave itself. Also check with a portafilter pressure gauge to eliminate the possibility of a stuffed gauge.

I would be going back to one of the repairers and showing them your video. The clues also lie in the fact that isn't a constant fault and gets worse over time.
Also, try googling 'bezzera pump pulsing' and look at other suggestions which include scale and dodgy OPV.

I just watched the video Justin, reckon Flynn is on the right track, doesn't seem like a pump problem, sounds like power to the pump is pulsing on and off.Originally posted by Justin84 View Post
I've had it for 7 years, use it every day.
Will be interesting to learn of the solution.
Daily use over 7 years, could be the pump, I'm surprised the repairers couldn't find the problem.

It's intermittent, but happens frequently enough for me to not understand how they couldn't replicate it.Originally posted by flynnaus View PostWhat's more telling is that 'two reputable repairers' could not replicate the problem. I assume they ran the machine on their bench and it worked fine but your video indicates something isn't right. I would be very surprised if they couldn't diagnose a faulty pump. Is this an intermittent fault or does it happen every time you use the machine?
Assuming there isn't a fault with the machine, could it be a power fault? What if you plugged the machine into a different outlet without other equipment including power boards, timers, etc?
Edit: Re-read your post and noted your comment that the problem increases the longer the machine is on for. Did you mention this to the repairers?
I have tried another power outlet, no change. Both repairer's were told it happens more often when the machine is hot.

Pumps do wear out, I've replaced two pumps in my Bezzera over 10 years.
A new pump isn't overly expensive and replacing it will certainly eliminate it as the cause of your problem.?

That was my first thought, but was told there is nothing wrong with the pump...
I think I'll get a replacement and see how that goes.
Thanks

Vibrating pump is likely on the blink, same thing is happening on my Rocket and I plan to put on a new pump.

Faulty Bezzera
Hello, I have a Bezzera machine which has been giving me issues for the last few months. It's been to 2 reputable repairer's, both of which could not replicate the fault and stated it was fine.
The issue is the pressure drops off when pulling a shot. It does this and stops completely, or surges up and down. Happens more when the machine has been on for a while.
I have been using the same beans, same dose, grind, etc... I even bought a better grinder as I was told it could only be the grind causing the problem. Still doesn't work!

Has anyone seen this happen before or know what would be causing it?
