  • Newbie here - looking for machine advice.

    Like many I've been using the Nespresso system for about 15-20 years and have really enjoyed the ease of use, but I am finding that over recent years my Nespresso breakfast coffee is just not cutting it anymore, I'm finding myself needing another coffee or 2 in the mornings at work, and my other half the same,

    I am very keen on the oracle, mainly for the ease of good quality milk rather then an automated container type, this along with the auto tamp feature is swaying me to the oracle, the local guy that runs the coffee shop where I get my morning coffee has recently bought a primadonna, which he swears by, but he's an espresso drinker.

    Myself and my better half have a long mac topped up (West Aussie) I guess similar to a double shot flat white or a 'magic' thats the main drink we have, so I'm not interested in the fancy touch versions.

    My question is, is there anything that rivals the oracle in terms of auto milk temperature control, texturing, auto tamping, and cafe quality consistent drinks ?

    Cheers

    The only other machine I can think of is actually a commercial machine (Cafello Tutto), pretty huge though but if you have no space restrictions this would last much longer than Breville;

    The Oracle can produce pretty good coffee but it would be prudent to get an extended warranty as they are very complex devices and only supported by a small number of technicians. They have a pretty short lifespan of 5 years or so.

    Can't think of anything else other than fully auto machines that grind/tamp internally like the Jura/Melitta/Delongi fully automatic ranges.

      Had a Breville Dual Boiler for many years and was very happy with it. If you get the Oracle I advise an extended warranty. The Oracle machine itself should serve your purposes including steaming but I am dubious about the auto tamping feature unless you can puck rake first. Don't know the other machine sorry.

      a great feature here is the request a quote link, site sponsors offer great advice and sometimes a special deal. https://coffeesnobs.com.au/SponsorQuotes
