The Lelit Bianca finishing is lacking in my opinion -

They now only sell ECM - it is a coffee roaster and servicer so not the same as a larger store, but thought it was interesting they didn't have much good to say about Lelit. I wish I could get to Jetblackespresso in Sydney to play with a few! Finding it hard to bite the bullet on a $2000-$3000 purchase online without trying it out beforehand. Currently have Niche Zero + Robot + Bellman which works well but is a bit fiddly.

If you're planning to keep it for 10 - 15 years then ECM or Profitec justify the slightly premium price. Don't look only outside of the machine, look inside the machine: ECM & Profitec hands down better quality build with minimum use of plastic tubes and extreme tidiness (German engineering).

Or at least with surface coating to reduce lead migration

As far as I am aware all modern espresso machines are made with lead free components.

    >>Also wondering about risks of lead migration from brass boilers

My first thought was that this is mostly BS.
But a little online research found, to address this issue, the Australian Building Codes Board (Gov. Body) released an impact statement last year, recommending that low lead plumbing fittings be mandated in regulation, with a transition period. This is still to be decided on. This in in relation to drinking water quality. Not sure exactly how / if this will apply to boilers. Watch this space I guess.

Thanks Cammo23, that’s helpful. A local retailer said they stopped selling them after too many came back with issues so that’s good to know.

I've had the Lelit Victoria (Elizabeth's little sister) for about a year and a half and have had absolutely zero issues with it.

I can't comment on the quality compared to the other machines but I am very satisfied with my lelit. I've also seen plenty of lelits for sale on here that are 5+ years old for sale and seem to be still in good nick.
Like anything, look after it and it will look after you.

I’m interested in this too. Ive been tossing up for so long between Lelit Elizabeth or Bianca, compared to Profitec Pro 300 or 600/700. I know the build quality on Profitec is better but Lelit has so many features for the price - just don’t want to be replacing it 5 years down the track. I have seen the Bianca in person and the stainless steel edges seemed a bit cheap. Haven’t been able to see an Elizabeth in person but the steam knob looks cheap. Also wondering about risks of lead migration from brass boilers in Elizabeth - not sure if that’s overblown or something to actually worry about.

I recently bought a Lelit Mara X out of Poland and having had (and just sold) a Rocket Cellini Evoluzione V1 I can hopefully offer a comparison.

As far as quality goes I don't see much of a difference besides the gauge of stainless steel used on the outside with the Rocket being thicker and polished rather than brushed on the Lelit Mara x.

The Rocket machine (ten years old) had a powder coated mild steel frame that had corroded under the drip tray to a small degree and I'm unsure if the newer machines have a similar frame ?

The Letit has a stainless frame that will never rust.

Lelit spare parts are available all over the world and the company offers multiple youtube videos (google "lelit care youtube") showing how to service and care for their machines which is refreshing, unique and to be applauded in my view.

Given the pre-infusion functionality, temperature adjustability and stability of the Mara X I consider it an upgrade over the Rocket machine despite its way cheaper price.

If you are like me and happy to service your own machine I'm sure both would be great options but Lelit get my vote for their build quality and the for the ethical nature of the company.

Who else actively supports customers servicing their own machines ?

    Self service.

    You learn something.

    You save money.

You make better coffee because you understand how your machine works.....

I don't think it's overkill for home use. (Had a Synchronika and it was the best quality machine I've owned.) After all, they are specifically made for "prosumer" home use. And it's not that you need something that lasts 80 years or so, which they might if looked after, it's also the fact that you get to appreciate and enjoy that quality every time you use it. And there is a lot of satisfaction in that.

Whatever order, I would also love to know what people think.
Is ECM quality totally overkill for home usage?

started a topic Lelit build quality

    Lelit build quality

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Lelit Mara x and wondering if any owners can comment on their build quality compared to say ECM/Rocket /Izzo.

Ive watched as many videos as I could find and the internals looked well set out from what I can see (obviously quite cramped in the slimmer form factor).

Looking to have this machine for 10—15 yrs and happy to do yearly maintenance.

Also how is their parts availability for commonly replaced components?

    Thanks
Working...
