Hi guys,
I recently acquired a second hand Isomac Tea Due (approx 10 years old).
Internally looks pretty good but I noticed a leak from where the heating element screws into the stainless steel boiler.
I took it out, cleaned the element in CLR for 5 mins & then replaced the rubber gasket with a new teflon one.
Reinstalled & turned on the machine. The power tripped instantly as I turned on the machine.
I did not fill the boiler prior to starting the machine up, so I unplugged the wires to the heating element & the machine no longer trips. Boiler fills with water as it should.
Plug the element back in and turn the machine on again. Power trips again so I'm thinking I might have fried the element, or ruined it whilst cleaning it....
Will the element trip the power if it isn't fully submerged, or should the machine fill before it activates the heating element?
Any help would be appreciated - I'm prepared to buy a new element.
Sam.
