Hey all,
I felt like upgrading from our Sunbeam EM6910. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, except that I could never really pull a single shot. Doubles were fantastic, but singles seemed impossible. It's also nice not having to use so much coffee to pull shots. (16g single, 24g double.....or thereabouts)
We got the Lelit Kate yesterday and I feel like I've wasted $2k.
We nearly went through 100g of coffee yesterday trying to perfect the single basket. Couldn't get it right.
I set the grinder back to factory settings and pulled a near perfect double shot first time. This was with the grinder set to default and dosing set to 10 seconds.
-How many grams are other Lelit Kate owners using in a singe basket?
-Should I try a different basket?
My second gripe is with frothing procedure.
We let the steamer get to temp, 140c, froth our milk, and then push the 'coffee' button and wait for the machine to drop to 93c........and wait........and wait.
The bar got about 3/4 of the way up and just stopped.
I eventually just got annoyed and pulled a shot anyway. Only after I pulled the shot, did the temperature display go to normal.
-What are we doing wrong?
We have a free class with the retailer I bought the machine off, so I'll bring up my issues when we do that. I just thought some other Kate users could offer some advice.
Thanks.
