Thanks Anthony. That’s good to know. I was also curious about the Vivi duetto. Is this the same as the Vivi pid except the dual boilers? Is the pid control only for the brew temp? Nothing about this machine on the Izzo website (I’ve put a separate post about this)

    Hello ivardj,

We have a very good service network in Australia for Izzo machines.

Interestingly Coffee Machine Specialists are one of them. We refer many clients to them. We can refer you to others if they are not close to you.

The Galatea is actually in runout with it ceasing to be imported into Australia very soon.

Please feel free to call, email or DM if you need any other information re the Izzo Vivi PID

    Cheers

    Antony

Izzo is a quality brand and Casa Espresso would be able to advise you who can service or supply in Brisbane.

I wouldn't read too much in one retailer stocking a brand or not, though understand your loyalty. There can be many reasons for this, the importer believes they have enough distribution points in a town or city and doesn't want people stocking it who won't get sales, or possibly from the retailers viewpoint why stock an extra brand which involves floor stock, spares, etc which may increase costs by say 10% for only a 5% increase in sales. Ie if you already sold Audi, BMW and Lexus why stock Mercedes and increase costs by a third when extra sales may cannibalise existing sales. They also don't sell or service La Marzocco or KvDW and most would consider those very high quality. There area probably other reasons they don't supply or even service those but you can see my point, their stock list isn't exhaustive of quality. One brand they stock has been described as a dogs breakfast in terms of wiring. I believe the retailer in question are the Bezzera importer, that must eat up a lot of capital for stock and they probably try and avoid direct competitors to their models.

    Sorry, haven't used either machine

Choices....Izzo Vivi PID vs Bezzera Domus Galatea

    Hi all,

TLDR; Domus Galatea or Izzo Vivi?

I am finally about to pull the trigger on a more pointy end espresso machine. I've had the Siliva for years, and was reasonably happy with it, but started to find the milk frothing exercise a bit tedious.

We are two full time and one part time coffee drinkers in the household, and drink about 4-5 lattes and one-three espressos every morning, plus occassional top ups to about lunch.

I bought a second hand FAEMA e98 Compact S3 - which worked great, except the drip tray kept filling. That, however, burnt out as one of my kids opened the hot water valve while off, and then when it switched on in the morning it had about 1.5 hours of running without water. It may be repairable, but I'm a bit over 2nd hand machines (as was my Silvia).

So - I've decided to go for the heat exchange E61 machine, and have previously borrowed a Bezzera Domus Galatea from Coffee Machine Specialists, I quite like this machine, and there are some decent sub 3000 deals on this. Then there is the Izzo Vivi, which has a PID (which use is debatable for an HX machine, sure). and a smaller footprint.
I saw a nice review on youtube of the Vivi, and it appeals to me, but am a bit concerned that coffee machine specialists don't list Izzo as one of their brands. They were a hard NO on my FAEMA.

Has anyone had an Izzo in Australia (Brisbane) and been able to get it services regularly?

Any views on the two choices I'm considering? Bezzera Domus Galatea or Izzo Vivi?
