  • Machine for small office

    Hi all,

The boss has tasked me with recommending a coffee machine for the office. No real budget, so aiming at pointy end.

Only about 10 of us in in the office. So probably looking at 10 - 20 cups a day. We have a shared kitchen with other offices, that is also pretty small, so the machine won't be plumbed in as it will be kept in our office.

I was leaning towards a semi auto machine but also considering a super auto just for ease of use for other staff. Never been a fan but not looked at a super auto in years so not sure if they make a decent cup nowadays.

What would people recommend for a small office? Majority aren't fussy with their coffee... but thankfully the boss is a bit of a snob... so still want something that makes a decent cup.

    G'day Bob...

Sounds like the Breville Oracle Touch might be suitable...

      Thanks Mal,

My only concern with the Breville is longevity in an office where it is on all day. I had a BES920 at one point, which was great, until it started to get some issues out of warranty and repairs were uneconomical. Although, not sure if machines like Jura have the same issue on the fully auto side anyway.

I do still have a soft spot for Breville products though.

As long as there is at least one person who can keep the grinder tuned in, using a semi auto is pretty simple and the coffee will be so much better than out of a super auto. Something compact like the Profitec Pro 400 and Pro T64 or Ceado E6P?

Thanks Charlie. Solid option! I can see myself being tasked with cleaning and grind monitoring if we go the semi auto route.

Bob you'll be surprised.......Re: Grind setting, Ill guarantee you is a once in a while adjustment....if
1/ Keep your beans recently roasted 10- 24days. Order off Andy and the issue is covered.full stop.
            2/ Keep them fresh
3/ A consistent dose in grams

A good quality grinder of the 64mm flat burr type that Charlie reco'd you ....and of a similar one that Ive used for over a decade now produces consisitent quality ground's.

What ...I would recommend is that you also install an appropriate water filtration system for the coffee supply.

No need to thank me. And I'm simply a public member who lvs good coffee.
