Hi all,
I just received an EM6910 and an EMO450 for Christmas from the Boss (very happy).
However, I have a problem (maybe) with the grinder. - I am grinding on "1" - yes, the lowest setting and am just getting around 12 - 1:00 position on the gauge when extracting! Only on this setting am I getting a reasonable extraction. Should I order a spacer or two from sunbeam, or, return the grinder for a new one?
I have read a fair bit of the info on here regarding the EMO480/450 and understand there is variability in the grind settings between grinders, but to start on the lowest setting possible, bearing in mind it is a brand new grinder (24 hours out of box), seems a bit off. By the way, I am grinding, light tamp, grinding more, leveling, tamping hard so I dont think under tamping or channeling is causing the issue.
At the moment am using supermarket beans as my order of fresh is on its way. (Nevertheless, bean freshness shouldnt have any bearing on the gauge pressure, should it?)
