    Re: San Marco Grinder

Ive pulled the burrs out and they were fairly worn. About to order more from CoffeeParts along with burrs for the Carimali that I picked up at the same time.

I havent started to clean too much but it does look in excellent condition internally and I cant think why it wouldnt be an excellent grinder. Already thinking about powder coating the case but will wait for a while

Cant wait to see how she scrubs up Michel....

If the burr-plates are ok, get ready for some excellent coffee mate ;D

Id be tempted to strip down the LSM and repaint it the combo of the above colours! White all over with red stripes in those grooves... or vice-versa - oh! Itd be deadly!!! Itd look like a Vespa, but killer. Grind in style I say.... oh and ive seen worse looking grinders.

    NO, NO, NO.
If youre going to repaint it must be Green, White, and Red. Sheesh!

onya fix - telling it like it is (hope mal aint offended...)
aim too help, not to offend

if people get offended because it is told the way it is, then that is their problem

dont have time for the bullshit
    Nahhh....

Dont get offended that easy and besides, I dont mind the somewhat rugged, industrial look of my LSM. Anyway, you could always strip her down and have the outer case powder-coated in some exotic shade or another, maybe something to go with your decor? Plan on stripping mine down at some stage in the near future when I have another grinder to use. Cant be without my coffee .

She is a very imposing presence nonetheless and that might disturb some people looking for a used commercial for home use. As Graham says above though, under the bonnet theyre all quality in the right places. They are a "stepped" grinder but each step only represent about a 2 degree circumferential change on a thread pitch of approx. 1.5mm and I love the rapid change convenience 8-)

    Cheers,
    Mal.

the old lsm will probably outlive the lot off us

new set of cutters every so often
(worn cutters kill even the expensive grinders)

most people wont buy them because their looks
but looks commercial cause it is
