Try sponsor Omaras.
They regularly get in 2nd hand grinders and espresso machines.

Re: Mazzer super jolly automatic (timer?) question
My SJ is auto, unmodified. It can basically operate the same as a manual. the auto has 3 positions - off, on, and the third is a manual start position (which then springs back to the on position). When grinded enough switch it off, and the auto part will never kick in. I would have no hesitation getting an auto for home if I were you. I have a manual mini, and the auto SJ is just as easy.Originally posted by 153E3E3034373A285B0 link=1242085221/0#0 date=1242085221Does anyone know about the automatic model and whether it is a non-issue for home use?Any advice would be much appreciated.

Mazzer super jolly automatic (timer?) question
Hi all,
Ive been hunting for a Mazzer Super Jolly on the second hand market as a global financial crisis friendly upgrade to my old Lux. The Lux has been great but I managed to break the hopper recently, and it was getting a little limiting with its steps. It was one of those unfortunate events but a great excuse to upgrade
The Mazzer SJ will be the first step on my upgrade path to a better machine (a nice single group machine like a Vibiemme Super Lever eventually). Im not against a Mini but the SJ appears to be more common on the second hand market, primarily from ex commercial use, and sells at a much greater discount.
There seem to be two SJ configurations - a manual switch or an automatic / timer switch. Im wondering if the automatic grinding can be disabled, or controlled to be home use friendly. From my research the controls seemed to be either manual OR automatic but I couldnt find a clear answer (every site seems to have the same marketing blurb). Essentially I dont really fancy my grinder automatically grinding to replenish the doser.
Does anyone know about the automatic model and whether it is a non-issue for home use? Any advice would be much appreciated.
